About this i spy sheet
Counting every Oopsie of one color means scanning the whole sheet without skipping or counting one twice, which is harder than it sounds at four. Each color has a different count, so a child can't copy one number into every box. The generator only uses Oopsies whose measured color clearly matches the color name.
Tips for parents and teachers
- Show your child how to mark each Oopsie as they count it, with a dot or a small tick.
- Count one color at a time, from the top of the sheet to the bottom.
- Print in color. In black and white this sheet doesn't work.
The skill it trains: visual scanning
Visual scanning is the ability to search a space with the eyes in an organized way: left to right, top to bottom, without skipping parts or checking the same spot over and over.
Visual scanning: what it is, signs a child finds it hard, and more activities
Play it in Oopsies: Family Reunion
👨👩👧 Family Reunion
Find every Oopsie of the family: all the ones with glasses, a mustache, a hat… The trait is shown as a little picture, so no reading is needed, and a counter keeps track of the search.
