About this shadow matching sheet

Most Oopsies are rounded squares, and a square shadow looks like every other square shadow. So this sheet only uses Oopsies with a shape you can recognize from the outline alone: a hat, a tuft, ears or an antenna. They are the same Oopsies the Shadow Show world in the app starts with.

Tips for parents and teachers

Ask your child what makes each shadow special before drawing any line: "this one has a hat".
Cover the colored Oopsies and ask which shadow has the pointy hair: it trains the same skill the other way round.
Prints fine in black and white: the shadows don't need color.

The skill it trains: form constancy

Form constancy is the ability to recognize a shape or an object even when it changes size, color, position or direction. A triangle is still a triangle when it's huge, tiny, upside down or red, and a cup is still a cup seen from above.
