Printables by skill
Each sheet trains one visual perceptual skill. The skill pages explain what it is, what it looks like when a child finds it hard, and give more activities for home and class.
- Visual discrimination: seeing what makes two similar things different. (odd one out, easy, odd one out, medium, odd one out, hard, find the twins, easy, find the twins, hard)
- Figure-ground: picking one thing out of a busy background. (seek and find, hard, seek and find, medium)
- Visual closure: recognizing something from just a part of it. (who's peeking?, easy, who's peeking?, hard)
- Visual scanning: searching a space with the eyes, in order. (seek and find, easy, seek and find, medium, i spy, easy, i spy, medium)
- Visual memory: remembering what you've seen, and where. (look and remember, easy, look and remember, hard)
- Form constancy: recognizing a shape at any size, color or angle. (shadow matching, easy, shadow matching, medium, shadow matching, hard, same oopsie, any size, medium)
- Spatial relations: where things are, and which way they face. (which way?, easy, which way?, hard)
- Visual tracking: following a moving thing, or a line, with the eyes. (follow the strings, easy, follow the strings, hard)

How to use them
- Start easy. Success first: move up a level once the easy sheet feels like a game.
- Keep it short. One sheet is plenty for a 4-year-old. Stop while it's still fun.
- Talk about the looking. "What made that one tricky?" helps children notice their own strategies.
- Use the answer key together. Checking is a second round of looking, not a test.
Questions about the printables
Are these printables really free?
Yes. Every sheet is a free PDF, with no sign-up and no email. You can print as many copies as you need for your own children, your class or the children you work with.
Can I use them in my classroom or therapy sessions?
Yes, that is what they are for: personal, classroom and therapy use are all fine. Please don't sell them or include them in a paid product.
Can I share them?
Please share the link to the page rather than the PDF file itself (for example playoopsies.com/printables/), so people always get the latest version and the answer key.
What paper size are they?
US Letter (8.5 × 11 in). On A4 paper, choose "Fit to page" (or "Scale to fit") in the print dialog: the margins are wide enough that nothing gets cut.
Do I need a color printer?
Not for all of them. 8 sheets work in black and white (shadow matching, follow the strings, which way, and I spy accessories). Sheets about colors, like I spy colors or the easy odd one out, need color.
Who are the Oopsies?
The characters from Oopsies, a free seek-and-find game for iPhone, iPad, Mac and Apple Vision Pro, with no ads and no in-app purchases. Every drawing on the sheets comes from the game.
