About this look and remember sheet
Six Oopsies to remember, and each one has a lookalike of the same color waiting below the fold. Remembering "a green one" isn't enough anymore: your child has to remember which green one, with what eyes and what accessory. A real challenge for older children, and for grown-ups too.
Tips for parents and teachers
- Teach a trick: name each Oopsie while looking ("glasses, mustache, big smile…").
- Give 30 seconds instead of 20 for younger children.
- Afterwards, unfold the page and compare each lookalike with the real one.
The skill it trains: visual memory
Visual memory is the ability to remember what you've seen: a shape, a picture, a word, a face. Remembering where something was (visual-spatial memory) and in what order things came (visual sequential memory) are close cousins.
