About this which way? sheet
Each row shows the same Oopsie four times. Three stand up straight, and one is upside down or lying on its side. Noticing which way something faces is part of spatial relations, the skill that later helps children tell b from d. The Oopsies' faces make it easy to see which way is up.
Tips for parents and teachers
- Ask your child to show with their own head how the odd Oopsie is turned.
- Use position words: upside down, on its side, facing left.
- Try the hard sheet next, where the differences are smaller.
The skill it trains: spatial relations
Spatial relations (also called position in space) is understanding where things are compared with each other and with yourself: above, below, in front, behind, left, right, and which way something is turned.
Spatial relations: what it is, signs a child finds it hard, and more activities
Play it in Oopsies: Tiny Titans
🐘 Tiny Titans
Oopsies of very different sizes spread over a field bigger than the screen. Children drag to look around and pinch to zoom, tiny Oopsies hide under giants, and later levels turn the Oopsies in every direction.
