Whoosh! A Visual Tracking Game for Kids
Whoosh! A gust of wind sends every Oopsie flying, and they all land somewhere else. Find the right one before the next gust, or follow it as it flies. Whoosh! is a world of Oopsies, a free seek-and-find game, and two of its levels play right here in your browser.
Free, nothing to download. Tap Find to start: the timer runs, and a wrong Oopsie adds 10 seconds, like in the app.
How Whoosh! works
It starts like a normal seek-and-find level: the start screen shows the Oopsie to find. But the wind is picking up.
- Watch the gauge. A wind gauge at the bottom fills up. When it's past the middle, the Oopsies start to tremble, harder and harder.
- Then, whoosh! A gust sends them all flying and they swap places. If you were about to tap the right one, follow it with your eyes.
- The first gust comes after 5 seconds, then the wind follows the level's rhythm.
- No gust while a finger is on the screen (on this page, while you hold the mouse button). And a tap on an Oopsie in mid-air still counts.
- Later levels bring more Oopsies and more frequent gusts. From level 4, some gusts move only half of them. Level 5, the second level above, makes them spin as they fly.
What Whoosh! trains
Following one character as it flies across the screen is visual tracking: keeping your eyes on something that moves. It's the skill children use to follow a ball, or a line of text from one word to the next.
If you lose it, you have to find it again from memory of what it looked like: visual memory takes over.

Tips for parents
- Keep your eyes on it. If your child has spotted the Oopsie just as the gauge fills, suggest following it during the gust instead of starting over.
- Know about the finger trick. Holding a finger on the screen pauses the wind. It's there so a slow tap never gets cut off by a gust, and it can help a child who feels rushed.
- Play shell games. Three cups and a small toy, shuffled slowly: the same tracking, at the kitchen table.
- Lots of motion. Whoosh! is one of the busiest worlds. If your child prefers calmer screens, try Shadow Show or Peekaboo first.
The Whoosh! cards
Each level of Whoosh! frees one Oopsie, and every Oopsie you free becomes a collector card in the app. Here are the cards of this world, the same as in the game. Point at a card, or drag it, to tilt it.
Good to know
- Free, for real. No ads, no in-app purchases, nothing to unlock with money.
- Rated 4+ on the App Store. Simple enough for preschoolers, tricky enough for grown-ups in later levels.
- iPhone, iPad, Mac (M1 or later) and Apple Vision Pro.
- Works in airplane mode. Levels play offline; progress and leaderboard times sync when you're back online.
- Rather no timer? The stopwatch button on the app's home screen hides the timer and the "+10 s" for a wrong Oopsie.
