What's on the sheet

Printed instructions: “Follow each string from the Oopsie to its bubble. Try with your eyes first, then check with your finger! Color each bubble like its Oopsie.”

About this follow the strings sheet

Five strings that wiggle up and down and cross many times. Children have to keep their eyes on one string through every crossing, which is exactly what makes following a moving Oopsie in the Whoosh! world hard when the wind blows. Fingers are allowed, and very helpful.

Tips for parents and teachers

The skill it trains: visual tracking

Visual tracking is the ability to follow something with the eyes, smoothly and without losing it: a ball flying through the air, a bubble floating away, or a line of text across the page.

Visual tracking: what it is, signs a child finds it hard, and more activities

Play it in Oopsies: Whoosh!

🌬️ Whoosh!

Every so often, a gust of wind sends the Oopsies flying and mixes them up. Children keep their eyes on the Oopsie they are after as it flies, or find it again afterwards. Later gusts come more often and spin the Oopsies around.
